"Here, nowhere" is the second album from Germany-based musician Tim Schmidt.
While the debut album was still very much rooted in traditional structures (building on acoustic guitar riffs / melodies), "Here, nowhere" goes way beyond that.
Over the course of 54 minutes, the music often ventures off deeply into ambient music, getting rid of strict form and melody, while fully embracing the soundscapes.
In essence, this album tries to mix the melodic sense, and punctuated heaviness, of post-rock with ambient music.
All songs composed, arranged and performed by Tim Schmidt.
Recorded and mixed in a home studio from September '15 to August '16.
